Queen Mary Hospital by Eclectarte

The newest Hospital “Queen Mary” was inaugurated in Bucharest in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Margret of Romania. This last project is one of a series of Hospitals and clinics with an original conceptualized design
idea created by Eclectarte, our interior design and architecture studio. The chain “Queen Mary” includes five Hospitals (two of them are maternities) and 18 clinics. We had the challenging opportunity to make the design for nine of them and thereby to create a recognizable personalized image with some variations of the chosen theme for each one. This chain is appointed by the Royal House of Romania.

The whole idea was to design an unconventional space witch does not reminds you a Hospital, looking more like a Boutique Hotel with stylish, refined spaces with a contemporary look and personalized salons, each one with a different design. The neonatology room offers a generous airy and delicate space for the newborns. The prints of a carefully selected reproduction series by classical artists on the walls are dedicated to motherhood and infancy. Framed with exquisite hand made frames with gold and silver leaf they ennobles the walls in the waiting areas. Of course we were inspired by Queen Mary’s highly aesthetic world and her personality so we dedicated her our contemporary interpretation. The original receptions for adults and children as well provides spaces with a serene atmosphere welcoming people to a different kind of interior.

We created this sophisticated and unconventional interior design project using only accredited finishing materials, furniture and lightnings agreed for this type of aseptic spaces.

The Hospital comprises 7000 square meters organized on five floors, it accommodates 100 beds in 53 reserve rooms, 4 operating rooms and two delivery rooms. This is the single Hospital in Romania dedicated to mother and child.

Red Bull Music Academy by Langarita-Navarro Arquitectos

The centre of contemporary art Matadero in Madrid, Spain, hosted an amazing musical event Red Bull Music Academy during the September and November 2011. It sheltered concerts, audiovisual projections and various other creative workshops. The spaces for this event were prepared by the young architects of Langarita-Navarro Arquitectos. A large object with steel framework, concrete facade and a working infrastructure ready for unexpected scenarios was dedicated for this purpose.

The architects created a design with suitable acoustic and technical conditions, which amplifies the artistic experience of the participants. Taking the restricted budget and time constrains into account, the architects strived for a simplistic solution, with further spatial reorganisation possibilities. The design consists of several pavillions, with walls made of bags of soil, which also serve as acoustic isolation and provide spaces for offices, rehearsal rooms, recording studio, conference rooms, radio station and a lounge with refreshment.

Cancer Counseling Center Proposal by EFFEKT

The winning project of a counselling centre by the Danish architects of EFFEKT atelier is designed as a group of seven smaller houses, arranged around two inner atria. The centre neighbours with a hospital in the town of Næstved, Denmark and its proximity allows for a mutual contact. The centre creates multi purpose spaces with its disposition. Library, kitchen, counselling spaces, clubhouses, shop, gym and other amenities were put up for the comfort of the guests.

Individual buildings are distinguished from the other hospital objects by their sadle roofs of different heights and building materials. The main inspiration for the designers was the centre Maggie. Its philosophy rests in belief, that architecture can help people feel better and that innovative spaces can inspire healing. The main factors are quality of lighting, atmosphere, mood, colour and tone of the rooms and the amount of privacy and safety.
